Hello Hershey Little League families,
Football, Field Hockey and Soccer are wrapping up, and the weather seems to be changing toward winter but we’re just getting started on all of the work and preparation necessary for another great season of Little League Baseball (HLL) here in Hershey.
Many changes have occurred on your HLL Board since the end of last season, but our commitment to bring your kids the best baseball experience has not changed. If you get the opportunity, please take a moment to thank outgoing HLL Board members Jen Garver-Hynes, Jeff Hahn, Jim Larkin, David Myers, and David Mysel, for their many years of service and commitment to HLL. In our renewed effort to fill the void left by these outstanding board members, please welcome Doug Hummer, Josh Orris, Chris Painter, Jeff Schmidt, Mark Snyder, and Dave Umberger to the HLL Board. Please also welcome Trishia Copenhaver as our HLL Webmaster/Commissioner, and Brian Bingeman as our HLL Field Director/Commissioner.
In our first meetings your HLL Board has already: developed an updated two-year strategic plan, aligned our various committees, commissioners and project assignments to support the updated plan; adopted the 2013-14 budget; and reaffirmed the protocol and procedures we will follow as a Board. Please take the time to familiarize yourselves with your HLL Board of Directors and their respective roles as listed on our website (www.hersheylittleleague.com). Additional information regarding the 2013-14 strategic initiatives and other HLL Board efforts will also be updated soon on the HLL website under the “FAQ’s” and “About Us”.
Player registration for the2014 HLL season will be available beginning in December. We are pleased to inform you that there will be no increase in the player registration or capital fees for the 2014 season. Please watch for details through email, the HLL website, Facebook, and other courtesy reminders on the websites of our colleagues from many other Hershey Youth Recreation Sports organizations.
In the meantime, please be thinking of how each of you as a member of the HLL community can join in the effort to make the 2014 season a great opportunity for the hundreds of children who play Little League baseball in Hershey.
Finally, in continuing as your HLL Board President it remains my pleasure to work for and with the other 14 members of the 2014 HLL Board, HLL Commissioners, the countless HLL volunteers and most importantly the kids and families of the HLL community. It remains my commitment that we will serve all HLL stakeholders with honesty, integrity and transparency. Have a great winter and we look forward to seeing everyone in early spring.
